How We Help
SOCIAL: Sunshine Program
Sunshine Pack | Include comforting, educational, and entertaining items to bring a smile and comfort to your child.
Sunshine Visits | Exclusive visits for your family and warrior. Enjoy a visit with Leo or one of his K9 Therapy friends, participate in a personalized art class, share a warm meal with your family, shop at the Sunshine Boutique, and feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. ACFC has created a special place where your child with cancer can be a kid.
Sunshine Events & Experiences | We host family events, where families can share a meal, build community, and enjoy entertainment.
Sunshine Celebrations | Unique experiences for YOUR Warrior and family. Past Sunshine Celebrations offered at ACFC include birthday milestones, family events, and end-of-treatment parties.
EMOTIONAL: Therapy Program
Individual • Family Counseling Services | Offered by licensed mental health professionals to cancer warriors, siblings, and parents/guardians.
K-9 Therapy — 4 Paws For Healing | Provides recurring visits from our certified therapy dog Leo and his furry volunteer friends during our Sunshine Visits and at most Sunshine Celebrations.
Wellness Program | Monthly group meditations and sound bowl therapy, wellness events for warriors, siblings, and parents/caretakers.
FINANCIAL: Assistance Program
Quarterly Financial Assistance | Offered to families who have a child in active cancer treatment. This assistance can help offset costs for medical treatment-related costs, lodging, car maintenance, parking, gas, co-pays, mortgage, electricity, etc.
Baxter’s Kitchen* |Provides nutritious foods and meals to go for you and your family. Dining hall has seating for up to 40.
Pantry | Parents and guardians are welcome to come and shop at no cost for household essential and non-perishable food items..
Education | We offer tutoring to ensure that cancer warriors stay on track with their educational needs. Additionally, families can bring all their children to receive assistance with assignments. For parents, ACFC provides monthly support for job reentry after taking time away from work to care for a loved one. This includes resume workshops, interview preparation, and more.
End of Life (EOL) Support | Parents and guardians are welcome to come and shop at no cost for household essential and non-perishable food items.
